it could be like... a very easy thing to resort to so you can say to yourself "i'm doing something." even if it hardly counts since smoking is just breathing, with more poison...

i know someone who actually took up smoking so she wouldn't look like an idiot waiting around. especially when alone. you have to look like you're doing something when you're alone. no one wants to see someone else alone. i mean. what the hell.
