Every single year of highschool so far, without fail, at least one person has died. Now I realize that everyone dies eventually and all that jazz, but generally you imagine that your friends get their diplomas and become adults BEFORE you have to bury them.

I'm really sick of the funerals and the RIP's and the crying and general hysteria it causes.

Also, there are roughly about 6 high schools in my area, yet whenever someone dies, it is either from my school or from the school we all went to before mine was built. It is ALWAYS someone I know or at least know of. Not that I would wish this on any other area or any other person, but really, the number has jumped up to 6 as of today. In the past three years.

(The details aren't all clear right now.) At four o'clock this morning, four girls from my school snuck out of their house drunk, and were involved in a car accident. The driver, 16 years old, was drunk. She passed out at the wheel, hit a guard rail, and apparantly the car flipped three or four times and caught on fire. One girl (15) had a minor injury to her ankle, another (16) is in MUSC with a collapsed lung, and the last girl, Erica (16), died.

Everything sucks really bad right now. The more clear the details become, the more depressing it is. It's sad to see someone die for something so pointless.

The driver is going to be charged with manslaughter. Marissa, the girl in MUSC, is on life support right now. If she dies, the driver will be charged with two counts of manslaughter... that's a 30-40 year sentence.

Kyrie: hit by an underage, unlicsensed, drunk driver
Damien: hit by a car (he went into diabetic shock and a car hit him)
Nick: shot in the head (ruled accidental but suspected foul play)
Kayla: SADS
Daniel: suicide
Erica: drunk driving accident.

:(

death, of course, sad
