I think in my own life I've drifted from a lot of, if not all of my university friends and I'm only reconnecting with them now that I'm in the 'real world'. And things happen that are outwith the control of people. Jeff was already unhappy in his marriage to Slater, so in that sense I hope that Annie doesn't come across as a homewrecker! But you're right, it's just that this was the right time for them to be together.
And I don't hate Slater, not a lot anyway, but she's the only one I could have Jeff marry because it had to be someone with a connection to the study group of sorts and there was no way I was going to make Britta a hate figure in this - I adore her too much!
Plus, you made me ridiculously happy that you picked out my favourite line in this entire monstrosity. That line was the only one that I had picked out from the start that I had to get in there somehow and it actually worked. So I'm delighted that you liked it so much :) *does happy dance*
I wish the texting was a bit more substantial but it was always more about the fact that it was how they were communicating and the circumstances around it rather than what explicitly was said. But it was my first stab at a texting fic so I reckon I can rest easy that it turned out ok in the end.
Thank you so much for the prompts, I have written another fic for one of the other prompts and will try to get that up once I've tweaked it a bit more just as a bit of an extra present for you.
