Another great and moving chapter with a genuine chuckle at the babys' initials.

Thank you. I thought it was better to end on a lighter note considering how heavy the rest of the chapter was. Glad you liked it.

Ugh Annies' mum though.. Would her parents actually be allowed to prevent Jeff from seeing her though? Its more the mum though you can tell the dad goes along with it for a quiet life. Never liked any Rosemarys i've met so the name works perfectly for her, no offense to any Rosemarys who read this comment.

In all honesty I don't know, but considering he isn't next of kin my guess is they would.

And for the record, I've never met any Rosemary's I liked either so ditto!

I'd guess as her next of kin they might have that right but i'm totally clueless about that really.

There's a good chance that it would depend on who her next of kin is... But since she was in rehab, by herself, at 18, it's likely she would have changed her emergency contact. Granted, I'm not sure how the American medical system works, so... If there was serious contestation occurring, a social worker would likely be called in to help mediate. And most hospitals have legal consults on staff, just in case, for issues like this.

Given the abundance of mixed, non-nuclear families, it might be harder for parents, estranged or not, to bar others from seeing their incapacitated child who is now a legal adult.

Yeah for the context of the story its whats needed to happen though and i guess they might have done a pierce and pulled out a cheque book if need be. I don't want to pick holes in the story was just curious as to how it would actually work. Also Annie being optimistic might have been unwilling to sever that final tie to her parents.

In all honesty, I didn't consider this before I posted the story which is poor research skills on my part.

However, I would doubt that Annie would change her next of kin details as although she struck out to be independent I don't think she would want to cut such an important tie with her parents altogether - plus, who would she have appointed otherwise? Her grandmother? Ehhh, I'm not so sure.

But it is right to say it would be difficult for Annie's parents to bar Jeff and the group from seeing her considering she is 18 - but she's also unconscious at the same time and as a doctor would you want to take on her mother? Lol.

Anyway, thank you for raising this as an issue, it's so good for me to know that people are really thinking through my fic and the decisions I make (even if it's a probably me getting things wrong for the sake of dramatic storytelling).

But, all's well that ends well! (I hope!)

I don't think you were over thinking things, but if you WERE over thinking things then I think that would be totally ok to over think things :D

(You have no idea how many times I tried to type that - being deliberately obtuse is hard!)

That's kinda like "if you notice this notice, you'll notice this notice, is not worth noticing."

No i definitively have a tendency to over think, anytime I share a theory to a book I'm reading or a programme I'm watching I tend to get looks of "how do you come up with this stuff" it makes me reluctant to share my theories. Well that and I don't want to be proved wrong! ;)

Lol.

But seriously, I think sharing of theories so hit me with as many as you like.

Ah now i'm on the spot I can't really think! I do know i spotted a certain Downton twist about 3 eps before it happened and pretty confidant that it will play out like i'm expecting. The last thing I came up with a theory for was "death comes to Pemberley" about 50 pages in i think i figured out who did it. Still reading though so there's plenty of time for me to change my mind on that one, desperately trying to curb my natural instinct to skip the end i'm a terror for that.

I so need to watch Downton. I think I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't been sucked in to the vortex that is Downton Abbey.

And also not read Death Comes To Pemberley but I have the book somewhere, just not gotten around to sitting down with it. DO NOT SKIP TO THE END THOUGH! You'll regret it!

Just half way through and so far managed not to, its kinda my thing though, I'm really trying to resist maybe I should make it a belated new years resolution and try and brake myself of the bad habit. That's the great thing about your fic that I can't just skip to the end to see how it all turns out cos if I could I so would!

The first series of Downton is pretty great the second series not so much, I'm putting it down to a mixture of too high expectations and the writers just not having the same amount of time to work on it as they did the first.

As an Irish person I really feel the lost opportunity to really talk about the Irish 1916 rising, I feel it warranted more than the cursory mention it got. There is an Irish Character in service to the family so was hoping it would be mentioned more than it was.

I'm a bit of a history buff and naturally enough for me I find Irish history fascinating.

That is the joyous things about fics *evil grin*

And although I've not seen it, maybe Downton will come back around to the Irish uprising. You never know.

I'm also kind of a history buff although I'm a bit out of the studying part of it now, but I always enjoy studying if I get the chance. I'm one of those weirdos who spend an entire afternoon on wikipedia going from the death of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand to something completely random (not like wiki is a primary source for history but, you know...)
