never will learn

Jan 02, 2009 23:41

i started this to avoid two awful films, but now they're finished and i'm finished. would update but that quiz has properly taken it out of me. sleepytimes.

questions, questions
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?:
Moved into a flat in Manchester with Jon, had a flatwarming, played Rock Band, went to Portmeirion, tried two new curries that I actually liked :O, bought a purple hoover (domestica - I'm a husband's dream :P), saw My Vitriol live (the expectation killed it methinks), saw Björk live and not on a festival bill (SWOON), watched each of Oceansize's albums in full on three consecutive nights...

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?:
Honestly, I don't remember last years. Can't remember if I made any. But I think I will this year, some things need to change.

2008's?:
1. Make some actual steps towards doing something I actually want to do as a career. If that involves taking on the role I do currently as something more permanent in order to get more experience on my CV, so be it. Desperately hoping some amazing job related to want I want to do will come up so that I can go for that instead, but now really doesn't seem like the right time to be jumping ship. Just hope I don't die this year - that would be shit.
2. Make some music. This is just getting silly now. Where's the old motivation gone?
3. Sort out the scum who live next door.
4. Eat more fruit and be healthier in general, need to be shifting some of this round face thing away. Might go to two keepfits a week, see if that does it.
5. Go on holiday to somewhere lovely
6. Have more adventures.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?:
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?:
No.

5. What countries did you visit?:
Wales. Czech me and ma globetrotting.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?:
Some luck career wise. Maybe me getting this job will be classed as luck in some form, but would like to feel that I'm actually heading in a direction that I want to. Spose it'd help if I knew what that was.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?:
11th April - Björk at the Apollo :D
22nd May - The date we got the flat :D
I'd carry on, but the multiples of 11 pleases me too much.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?:
Hmm. Clearing my overdraft definitely took some work. Was very pleased with myself. I even have some savings now :O

9. What was your biggest failure?:
Not managing to find a job in the area I want and not doing ANY (well, enough) music :(
