Early 12-04 - Catching up... [Quotes & Retrospect]

Dec 07, 2004 22:35

So it's been quite a interesting past month or so. So much so that I've been too busy to post? Eh, not really.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago we began our server switch from our various setup's to our new Tulsa based web hosting that Toydrum now offers - and this not only means that my blog was served faster - it was also all on one server - so it processes loads up the blog portion faster. You can't believe how much more so unless you've gone to it in the past and noticed... Like Mj lol..

Go check it out now. You'll be amazed.

So during the move- I couldn't do a entry / due to data loss / backing up the entries and such.

Also - sadly, Sean decided that I didn't need what few cherished comments I had in my blog anymore. So he took them out :( So - love me and comment through my contact form on my site - that way I feel better lol.

Comment it's self is down due to heavy HEAVY spamming of me. Sorry - will get it back up soon.

Well - there was a pirate party - of which I took pictures and haven't posted them up yet- but will as soon as I get them processed.

I start up Yoko Kanno love: Strangers from the Wolf's Rain soundtrack. **Hearts**

The rest of the month's or so of time that has passed between now and then?

Treasurable anime nights - not much of them lol - as Aaron Remle has been very busy with work.

Fun nights of game night - haven't gotten to play that ornery Ashley much at Smash lately - but it's still been fun. Of course, Phil had a day he went after ME and not my character - and that wasn't much fun. But I don't think it was for all bad, as we had a interesting conversation a few days later, and that was good.

Speaking of Lj - helped to convert Ashley and ' Easy E - aka Elliott' to the cause. Muah. Muah. Muah hah ha.

I yearn for "The Wizard" on DVD. That is in my very center of being lately. They soo nee to have it out on dvd damn it.

On video games - Aaron teh qFish [or should I call him Aaron the VI or AaronCoffee?] in one of our many late night VI trips tried to put me into the category of gamer. To which I tried to counter 'why did my thumb hurt after playing Ling in t4 tonight then' - to which he responded,

"Your just a bad gamer."

Now - while I can see the humor in this - I am no gamer damn it. lol.

Of course, these last few months - we've been playing more games - thus I've been playing more games - Mario Tennis OWNAGE at the Pirate Party, and Smash smash smash on Thursday nights, with the idea of bringing t4 to help out Phil / give us something new on Thursdays to play. Also - combine this with my now fulfilled promise to JD to "give Tekken 5 a chance" - and I could see where he might try and think I'm a gamer, and be along the right path one might think. But no - I don't like Tekken, and I only play games socially at best. So - he loses :)

On the Tekken thing, I find myself not even wanting to try at it. I did put time into it - even a bit secretly got somewhat excited at the idea of playing a Xiaoyu Ling last night / earlier today - cause of some of the flow blah blah. But - when I stepped up to t5 - it allll went away fairly quickly. The lame physics attached to the juggles. The lack of being able to really bulldog. Just ugh. Ugh. So - after learning some Ling, and then playing some t5 with JD tonight - I can say, I've given it a good run, and there just isn't anything there for me. I might play it casually with Phil, but the fleeting idea of helping some of the other Tulsa Types due to 'lack of ling players' has now expired; I'm no good, and won't spend money to be better lol.

Then there's that whole "Games don't get ya girls" thing. That's a whole other bucket of fish ;)

One really enjoyable thing about this last month or so has been late night's with Aaron. It's been a real off and on kinda deal - but fun, and interesting. From everything in conversations of "how many combinations are there for 10 hexagons" to running into one of JD's old t4 running buddies that placed highly in tekken Nationals - it's been pretty random. And fun.

Well, between the new placement of the site, and this post, hopefully I'll break my quiet period. Sure I've been putting up "game night" and various other event entries in my Lj, but I have not been putting up really content like yea - entries. And that's sad. So - to more in the future. Really - what stopped me was not getting the Pirate party pic's processed. Had I done those right away - I would have posted as soon as I could; and then not have had such a long time / or a cap over my documentary / creative / expressive writing outlet.

I still plan on doing a "2004" section on my site, that should be fun. Also I want to implement a solid setup / pass worded and such for DSM entries. Then - there is also a total redesign of the site - of which I think could go really well. Must get on that soon, yes, yes.

Socially, I plan on doing more of the same; hanging out with friends and doing 'nights'. Hopefully it'll be a good Secret Santa and New Years eve party type things comin up. I plan on bringing up a idea of going to Rhema park - off season like days after Christmas or something and taking pictures - as I did last year - heh only inviting people this time heh. I'll use this idea to probably officially launch the RandomEvents community that I've started a bit back, and beyond one idea so far, has laid a bit dormant. Gotta give it a chance to fly at least.

Well, with Toydrum's new hosting thing taking off, and commercial's being on Kjamz and a new salesman perhaps starting to come into his own - I've got plenty of work I need to get done and cleared off, in prep for new onslaughts. Off to that.
