September Update
Well, look at that... It's already freaking October. I honestly can't believe that it's so late in the year already. Absolutely freaking insane.
September wasn't a great month writing-wise, but it also wasn't a complete bust, either... Which I think is definitely a good thing. Wrote just short of 35k and started back in on Sky of Dust pretty hardcore. Have one more scene to add to chapter 9c and then two more [maybe three?] new chapters to write before I can get back into the actual editing, but... It's going well. Just slow. But I'm happy with where it's going, which is more than I could say about this middle section before slaving over it like I am right now.
I... Hmm. What else did I work on? Oh. Lots of 2YN and a little bit of BYB. That's likely where about half of my words came from, since I was putting out word on those novels. I'm still rather frustrated with 2YN. After all of those world building activities that were barely applicable to my novel / what I did end up using from the assignments was information I'd already had in my head and doing the assignments was little more than blogging about my novel, I was pretty excited to start the outlining exercises.
Except, the lessons were only so-so [which, not gonna lie, I was expecting at this point] and the assignments for the entire section? "Work on your outline!"
... Really? REALLY?!
Disappointed and frustrated are the only ways I can imagine describing this course to people who ask me about it in the future. I'm really glad that it's free because if I were paying for it? OMG, would be pissed. Of course, that's not to say that I'm not getting anything out of it, either... Because I'm actually working on the novel this way, which I wasn't before. But, it's nothing that I couldn't have done on my own, you know? Just, frustrating.
I hope people don't think this way about BYB... :/
