(no subject)
well a lot has happened over the past few days. my baby came into town tuesday night and stayed til thursday afternoon. we had a lot of fun together! he brought his puppy, bitsa, with him. awwr. i have a new son. heheh.
yesterday ashley finally managed to make it out here to bring skip and destiny. sorry about your truck, girl! but keep us in mind if you do decide to sell it. hehe. skip settled right in with no problems. destiny and phantom didn't think too highly of each other at first but now they are in love, i think. :)
this morning i got up extra early, fed skip and destiny.. did some cleaning around the barn. then got ready and headed out to ashley's barn. loaded up jackie and lena and then we headed to NC to their new home. got up there and traded them off for a [very dark] brown broodmare that ashley decided to call 'tessa'. (they were calling her brownie, how lame) headed home with her. i checked out her pedigree and she's got awesome doc bar lines. great for cutting. and of course she's due in 3 weeks. the sire is bred for reining so that baby is going to be one hell of a western performance horse! let's just hope for a stud! she made it home fine and seemed to enjoy all the attention she got. she's a very pretty mare with a nice head and hip.
it feels so empty up there at ashley's barn now that skip, destiny, jackie, and lena are all gone. but tessa is there now and in 3 weeks or so, there will be a baby there! yay.. and of course next year (hopefully) there will be a phantom jr. running around! can't wait!
ooh and my parents and i are looking at a broodmare (due in about a month) about 20 minutes from here. she's gorgeous! bay tobiano and impressive bred. perfect match for my phantom! ;) she's got a high chance of being homozygous too so hopefully she will throw a painted phantom jr. yay! possibly going to look at her this weekend sometime.
