(no subject)
well today was good, but tiring. we got a lot done up at the barn. cleaned up the paddock, fixed it up to where we could put horses in it. turned the boys out in there to eat the grass down while we dragged the pasture. the pasture looks awesome now. got a phone call from a lady who's husband is interested in taking lessons from me. they came out and talked to us for a while. they are really nice people. so i think he's coming out next sunday. he wants to learn how to ride better and how to break horses so i'm going to let him help me with skip.
speaking of skip, mom, fred, and i went out to ashley's barn today and dropped off some feed for skip. mom and fred really like him. i also introduced them to destiny, phantom's baby's momma. haha. fred seems to think phantom might throw a paint. that would be awesome! mom said if he puts out a good baby, she's going to buy a registered APHA or AQHA broodmare and we're going to breed him again and if the baby turns out to be a paint, we're keeping it. then we'll keep on breeding them each year and sell the babies. might invest in some more broodmares too. so i'll have some nice projects going on.
my next project, though, is to get mr. skipper gelded. it's not really a big deal right now cause i don't have any mares or anything but before i sell him or lease him out i'd prefer him to be gelded.
i think we're going up to tractor supply tomorrow to buy gates for the barn. much needed. along with some fly spray.
ooh and once we get our big check, we're looking into buying a tractor, going to add about 10 more panels to the roundpen, and finish all the stalls in the barn.
so i'm excited about all that!
and of course, chris and i are doing great. had a little arguement the other night but we worked it out. and i'm so glad cause i can't imagine losing him. he's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
