I had been thinking of buying a pendulum, there was a nice quartz one i wanted but it sold, then there was was a nice amethyst one, but that one sold too. I figured that when I was supposed to get one the right one would find me and i would know to get it.
This evening at the rec. center I saw some girls (I should know their names by now but I don't) plying with a pendulum, one of them was using it as a key chain. I asked to see it, it was a beautiful dark amethyst with golden runes carved into it. I immediately started naming the runes and talking about them. The girls seemed somewhat impressed and acknowledged that I got a lot more out of it than they did, I offered to buy it for $10, they thought that was too much, so I gave them $5. It would probably cost $20 at Magus.
One of the girls had seen it on Ebay and had bought it in order to give to someone - didn't know who. I think she bought it for me and didn't know it. So, now I have my pendulum, but not before they managed to break a peice of it and glue it back together, grr, but the damage is minimal.
The Runes are carved on each side and match up with an opposite side. The Rune pairs are: berkana-ansuz; sowulo-Raido; ehwaz-dagaz. The first pair represents maternal and paternal protection, the past, family, etc. The second represents inner strength and control, the present, the self, etc. The final represents cooperation and transformation, the future, society, etc.
I did a little concecration ritual in the bath tub mimicking Odin's receiving of the runes from the well of mimir.
Oh, and I have new icons.
