So I every year I post a top-ten list, immediately followed by another ten favorites, right? But this year I had such a tough time whittling my list that I’ve decided to just post a top-25. 2023 was a pretty awesome year for new music and I tried to soak up as much as I could!
Anyway, here are my 25 favorite releases from 2023:
(In alphabetical order because I can’t make decisions)

4. The Color Forty Nine - Eternally Grateful EP

7. Margaret Glaspy - Echo the Diamond

9. Lankum - False Lankum
10. Mary Lattimore - Goodbye, Hotel Arkada
11. Lifeguard - Dressed in Trenches EP
12. Loma Prieta - Last
13. LURK - Natural Causes EP
14. Gia Margaret - Romantic Piano
15. Nesting - Drag All the Lights Inside
16. Palehound - Eye on the Bat

25. .Yo La Tengo - This Stupid World
This is the first year in a long while that I don’t have any of my own releases to mention. Giant Waste of Man did put out "Silent Doubt (Scott’s Version)" but it’s a remix, so I’m not sure it counts? Regardless, I love it and I’m proud of it.
GWoM also made a short film, Stuck Here Forever, which is now streaming on our YouTube channel. Give it a spin if you have the time! We are overwhelmingly proud of it.
