2022 was a really great year for music, huh? So many fantastic releases, I had such a tough time whittling it down. Anyway, here’s a list of my ten favorites from this year, in alphabetical order:
1. caroline - caroline
2. Chat Pile - God’s Country
3. Deaf Club - Productive Disruption
4. Fontaines DC - Skinty Fia
5. Good Looks - Bummer Year
6. Horsegirl - Visions of Modern Performance
7. MJ Lenderman - Boat Songs
8. Meat Wave - Malign Hex
9. Daniel Rossen - You Belong There
10. Yard Act - The Overload
And, as typical, I’m gonna include another ten close contenders because I really truly loved these as well. In alphabetical order:
11. Alvvays - Blue Rev
12. Big Thief - Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You
13. Dehd - Blue Skies
14. Florist - Florist
15. S.G. Goodman - Teeth Marks
16. Goon - Hour of Green Evening
17. Kevin Morby - This Is A Photograph
18. Wednesday - Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'em Up
19. Wild Pink - ILYSM
20. Eli Winter - Eli Winter
And, of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my own band’s album which came out this year. Giant Waste of Man’s Biographer is a piece of art of which I am extremely proud. I really think you should give it a spin if you haven’t yet!
