She was born in Baraga, Michigan on September 25, 1918 and was the youngest of 12 siblings and the last surviving child of Richard Burt Mathes and Pearl Agnes (Clark) Mathes. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Clyde Sterling Williams. She retired from Continental Motors Corp and was an active member of Local 113. Pearl's real passion was cooking, all who found their way to her home enjoyed her many special recipes and her amazing ability to make something from nothing!
