I also wonder the same about Balthazar.
Dean HAD to choose Sam and not Adam.

Story wise, this storyline was exhausted, it had nothing more to say and the characterization of soulless Sam didn't work for me. Especially in this episode, I really didn't see any difference between Sam and the real Sam in some of his demeanors.
You're so right! From now on, let's hope on a positive note and the boys be as they were...almost.

Hey, I say one thing, this ending has opened up canon of all those fanfics that I've loved that had Dean caring for a badly damaged Sam as a result of the soul damage from the cage! :P

I do hope Dean won't spend all the time comforting his baby brother. I honestly think Sam won't remmeber much and will be back being all bitchy and annoying...his usual self, you know? The one we care about :)

I don't know, I want some prize for Dean but I am glad he has this role in the show.

Thank Christ he got his soul back. I was waiting, waiting, for them to turn around at the last minute and say, nope not yet. It looked like it was heading that way.
So happy they're ending this 'Sam has no soul' storyline. I was beginning to resent it, and beginning to hate Sam which I DID NOT ENJOY.
Anyway. Cross fingers that things can be repaired and we can begin to go back to what it was.
