HAPPY BIRTHDAY
merykey!!!
Silvia, Isa thank you for the vg!!!
519 set video. Thanks Jasmine for the heads up.
Some more thoughts about 5.14.
Yep he isn't, no matter what Famine told him. Yes, he is broken and he is hurting, but a dead person doesn't suffer, doesn't pray, doesn't feel. Dean feels. I want to believe he does, even though the idea of him being dead is not negative plot wise. Imo it fits the mytharc. It gives Dean the power to make the ultimate sacrifice.
I love they finally addressed his issues after 40 years in Hell, because 40 years in Hell are not bearable without any consequences..because 40 years in Hell are not comparable to anything else. One thing is how a person copes with what he has been through, how intense and deep is the perception of the pain, another one is the objctivity of what a person has been through. Can there be anything else worse than Hell? I don't think so.
I think that humanity is both what makes Dean fragile and strong at the same time. I don't know why but I think it's his faith in his being human what makes Dean so special and so powerful. What scares demons and his enemies the most. A fragile, flawed human being who can defeat them all.
A question: why did Dean resist to famine? Why did he feel fed?
I guess there are many theories about it and the easiest one is that since Dean is Michael perfect vessel and Michael is the most powerful angel, Famine can't affect Dean.
The other one is that the hunger we saw in the episode was a destructive one (food, sex, anger, violence). What does Dean want for himself? Love, peace and a rest. Things the Horsemen can not give him.
Just because I am sick of Dean's hate, I am quoting what Smilla said in a post she made:
And yet, every time the show hints that Dean's way more broken than he's letting on (and really, how many times this season? Oh, ops, NEVER before now!), the reaction is can we get over this now? Oh, Dean's pain is so boring! or worse, unwarranted...
What the show is telling me is not that Dean's a poor woobie who needs cuddling (although a hug now and then wouldn't go amiss). What show is telling me is that Dean's a fucking kick ass character. This is the man who wakes up every morning and keeps fighting, and has done so for so long that he can't imagine doing anything else. This is the man who still won't say yes to Michael, who will still try that last option: asking for help to whoever may be listening.
AMEN sis.
Praising Ben Edlund:
I've said this in the comments of my blog many times before, but I believe Ben Edlund has developed into the best Dean writer. However, Edlund did right by all three characters (Sam, Dean and Castiel) and I just can't believe how amazing this episode was. Let's break it down.
Can he write all the episodes??? Please!
....and Jensen Ackles:
Jensen, I can't say enough about how much he says with one simple facial expression. He doesn't even have to utter a word. It's just one heartbreaking look after another.
