The sun had set a while back, the air was hot and still -- until the rumble of a not-quite-motorcycle broke the silence on the mainland. Alec gunned the engine on the speeder bike, refueled and shiny from the wax-job he'd given it at the carwash place, and took the turn off back towards Fandom.
He hid the bike back in the woods near the dorms and snuck back through the darkness to the cabins.
Pulling out the laptop he had from class, he logged into his account and read the
e-mail from Buffy. He wouldn't be telling her he was really relieved to hear she was okay, but that was one less thing to set off any tension-related seizures at least. Out of curiosity, and to make it a little easier to seem like he'd been around the whole time (if in the background), he pulled up the most recent
radio to listen to on headphones.
Alec had a hard time not laughing out loud as John signed off, even if his amusement was somewhat dampened by the nearly empty bottle of pills he'd pulled out as he listened. He'd been making himself scarce most of the week for that reason - having to ration the tryptophan more than he was comfortable with, not wanting to risk something happening out in the living room or at a campfire. He couldn't miss classes though; that would've been a huge tip-off something was wrong.
Closing the laptop, he lay down in his alcove, listening to the music of crickets out in the woods. He'd have to remember to find Dean later and ask about how his weekend had gone. Alec grinned in amusement even as he was thinking that he'd have to tone down the teasing a bit -- too much and he'd probably never get another milkshake ever again. That would be a damn shame.
[OOC: Mostly just establishing he's around, but if a Seahorse wants to poke him about coming in so late, I'll be around for a bit yet.]
