Hi,

Randomly found your lj through wondering if anyone else went to my old school.... don't know if there's anything else we'd have in common, but you're asking for help, so...

As far as comments go, the usual practise is to reply to the comment with a comment of your own. I came here from the world of forums & suchlike, so I think of it as each post being a new thread. LJ's a place that's generally better the larger a friends list (or 'f'list') you have: for example, I originally registered to keep in touch with friends from Uni, but because there weren't many people on my flist (it can be spelled with or without the apostrophe) it wouldn't change very much for quite a while - but when I tumbled into fandom & started adding people and communities from fandom (Age of Sail / Pirates fandom, to be precise) suddenly I found myself struggling to keep up with what was going on on my flist...

These days, I tend to skim over the community posts and mostly use LJ for keeping up with friends' lives - whether those friends are people I met in real life, or people I met through fandom, it doesn't really matter...

I hope that makes some kind of sense to you.

Tigg x
