It's difficult to find positives sometimes. Sometimes it's more difficult to find one that counters a negative, but I'll give it a shot.
We're clearing out a lot of crap from the house. We found the camera below and a roll of film. And old 70's SLR of my dads. He had a more modern 80's one, but that hasn't shown up yet. But it's going to give me a nice wee toy to experiment with.
Built in East Berlin before the wall came down, obviously. Apparently it's meant to be quite a good wee camera. It's going to require some arcane knowledge to figure it all out, but thankfully I have my own DSLR, which while easier to operate has given me a grounding in the principles of SLR Photography. ISO, F-stop, exposure times, etc. Light metering is a bit new and I have to figure that out otherwise I'll bugger up the exposures. It's easy on a DSLR. It has automatic exposures. And on manual you can just snap, review, delete, adjust and try again. Not with this thing, but wouldn't you know it? There's an app for that......
A more positive thing is it still had some film in it. Probably from the late seventies. There were some shots on it, which I hope I didn't ruin while opening it. I wonder what Dad had been photographing back then?
