Touchstone was a character that when you first met him you just wanted to smack him but after he starts getting used to not being the front of a ship and Sabriel bitches at him, he finally starts out of it. He seems like a coward at first, but he isn't. And he's one of those goofy guys that you just shake your head and laugh at.
I can totally imagine Touchstone daydreaming (probably about Sabriel), and eating( ahahaha! I'll bet he eats like a horse) and he does rule a kingdom...so that's kinda like the SIms. ^_^
Touchstone--yep, yep, rudeness, traitors, doesn't like all the pomp and circumstance of crowds. He may be a king, but he doesn't want the crap that goes with it. I'd also imagine reading--maybe drawing would be stretching--but a journal. Yes. I could see him keeping some sort of journal.
And if there's one thing Touchstone is; it's genuine. With him, what you see is what you get. So fakers, apple polishers (I'm assuming this meaning 'suck-up'? I've never heard the term), vanity--all those soprts of things. He would loathe. And there is someone Touchstone doesn't like. His half-bro Kerrigor, who's a real jerk-off. ^_^
Touchstone is absolutely loyal. He never wavers. And ho'shit, is he quick tempered (I dare you, stab Sabriel with a fork. Go on. Go ahead. I dare you.) And when we first met him he was very easily depressed by failures and would beat himself up about it.
Hahaha! Touchstone is the picture of confused at times. He just makes you laugh and shake your head. And then he is somewhat anti-social. Especially as he gets older. His priority is his kingdom, not being the social butterfly.
I have to say, Touchstone probably doens't like Moggest very much but could appreciate the cat's wisdom, no matter how snarky. And I think, secretly, if you gave Touchstone a cat...he'd like it.
I think it's very interesting, in a way, that you don't like Sameth yet you thought you might be voted as him. And I looked through this application and sawa lot of Sameth--but more Touchstone. Is it an insecurity about who or what you are? Just idle ponderings, you don't have to actually answer that. But if it's true--then I would say ye to Touchstone even more because his insecurity--especially at the beginning is always a discomfort for him.
Touchstone hates his publicity. He loathes it. So when he tries to get outta dodge, he always tries to do it quietly. And on friends and family--well, Touchstone has no family except what he has in Sabriel, his son and daughter and whoa, new sister-in-law---but we aren't really given a perspective on his friends, as they never show him with any. but you could say, in a way, that since he had no family--that when Sabriel woke him up she was his first friend...course, then he married her but he was loyal all the way.
This is where I almost went with Sameth--but Touchstone has this quality when we first meet him. He is all pessimism. And, being a king, Touchstone is a leader, but he was fine following Sabriel around because it was three hundred years since he'd seen the light of day.
Now, Touchstone would definetly fight. But he'd want to defend everyone and that little tree on the corner, not just himself. But that can slide. And he's a badass swordsman. So naturally, a sword is best. :)
Now this was another spot where I hesitated (I'm not naming all of them, just the more prevelant ones) because Touchstone would throw himself in to save a life--quick-temper = brash actions but he would be stone solid about it if asked; he woudl say yes. But Sam would shift a little awkwardly and say he wasn't sure.

So! For all these reasons!!
Final Vote: Touchstone!
