If I were a direction, I'd be... sideways
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be... a hat stand (yes, Aliasse, quite so)

If I were a liquid, I'd be... coffee
If I were a gemstone, I'd be... cracked emerald
If I were a tree, I'd be... silver birch
If I were a flower, I'd be... long grass, kudzo
If I were a kind of weather, I'd be... rain against the sea wall
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be... a slide guitar
If I were a colour, I'd be... blueish?
If I were an emotion, I'd be... - actually i can't name many emotions so scratch that.
If I were a fruit, I'd be... oh please.
If I were a sound, I'd be... rabbits on a rampage
If I were an element, I'd be... water
If I were a food, I'd be... hummus
If I were a place, I'd be... Cornish cliffs and the land above them
If I were a material, I'd be... denim (but NOT blue denim at all - or ever)
If I were a taste, I'd taste... kinda chalky
If I were a scent, I'd be... 221b baker street or maybe those British Rail station waiting rooms that died out come 1979

If I were a body part, I'd be... a hip bone
If I were a facial expression... blinky
If I were a song, I'd be... something by marianne faithfull
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be... leather shoes, victorian style

If I were a TV show I'd be... Karaoke by dennis potter
If I were an author I'd be... somebody else
If I were a painting I'd be... something by modigliani (if he was drunk, blind and not a genius painter!)
