Sorry I haven't commented before, there's so much on flist I haven't gotten around to reading yet, and your fic was one of them, but am all caught up on this now, and am loving it.

I love all the detail you're going into with the legends and stuff. Um, Dean in restraints though is really hot, and I know it's not that kinda fic, but I guess my imaginations just running away with me now!

Bobby is wonderful, as ever, and the rapport between Sam and Bobby, even over the phone, is brilliant.

Well done, look forward to more!

No need to apologise for not commenting, just nice when you do. Glad you managed to catch up!

And hey, your imagination is allowed to run wild though I imagine Dean in restraints ain't quite as much fun when he's screaming his head off (and not in the good way).

It's quite fun to write Sam and Bobby scenes as I usually write more towards Dean and Bobby having the strong rapport. It's just lucky that this fic lends itself towards Sam and Bobby working together!

How can you not love Eeyore and Wol? A chronically depressed donkey and a dyslexic owl. Talk about ahead of their time kid's stories!!

I went a little ott on the herbs as a result of finding a nice website with a list of herbs and their mystical properties. Dean's lucky he didn't end up eating half a herb garden!!

As for Dean resisting the siren, you'll have to wait and see. next chapter is a more light-hearted interlude before the storm and then the last few chapters are all storm!

excellent part!! I thought that Sam packing up Dean's room and thinking how it is usually was so sad

Thanks, I'm glad you liked that bit. It just felt like something quintessentially Sam and Dean, the whole packing up to go after a job well-done.

Dean's psychological profile charis_kalos October 27 2007, 00:48:51 UTC
Loved this exchange:

His silence apparently registered to the older hunter and he could almost see Bobby rolling his eyes, “You are your own greatest weapon in this fight. Dean wants nothing more than to keep you safe, always has.”

Guilt swelled up in Sam again at those words, “Why can’t he just live for himself?”

Bobby snorted again and Sam had a nasty visual of a snot-covered receiver on the other end, “Do you really think now is a good time for a full psychological profile on your brother? Don’t sound surprised, I do know some words longer than two syllables.”

It's so right in terms of their relationship - all three of them. And a psychologically healthy Dean just wouldn't have the same 'aw' factor as the Dean who will do anything, no matter how stupid or self-destructive, to save Sam. So here's to many more years of Dean's psychological ill-health!

Yeah. It's kinda weird when you think about it, we love a show when one of the main characters is incredibly psychologically screwed up. I mean, imagine that as a recurring villain from season three: A psychologist who keeps trying to get Dean to talk!

But we wouldn't want him any other way. Well, Sam might prefer a more sane brother but he's out-voted!

Another great part.

I love the way you're writing Bobby - makes me love the character even more. So enjoying the Bobby/Sam interaction.

Thanks again for sharing!!

Tsk, if I can make you love the character even more, you obviously didn't love the character enough in the first place. Just kidding. I'm slightly insane a Bobby fan, get a big grin on my face everytime I see Jim Beaver in the opening credits. Glad I do his character justice!
