So...it turned out to not work so well as a good luck charm, and I mostly shaved the beard off.  I've now changed over to the "evil alternate universe" look and kept a goatee.  It's...interesting for sure.  Mostly in that it has all the frustrations of a beard but twice the maintenance.  I may be a little harsh to my facial hair - I haven't gotten ( Read more... )

Cap and Trade and the issues with the Inspector Generals have really been chafing at me, and it's been frustrating to find little common opinion on the topics with my liberal friends.

I find that most of my liberal friends are blissfully unaware of such things.

Actually, most people I talk to on either end of the spectrum have seemed like they were blissfully unaware until the buzz increased on voting "no" for cap and trade over the last 24 hours. Since we have Sue Myrick for our district I didn't do much, but it was nice to finally see people getting fired up in opposition.

Well, the only conservatives/Republicans in my non-Internet life are my dad and my husband. My liberal friends seemed to have checked out politically since Obama was elected, as though now everything is OK.

I was out to dinner recently with a few friends and someone complained about our considerable traffic problems here in Seattle. One of the girls said, "Don't worry, Obama will fix it!"
