looking forward to the weekend

The women's spae weekend is starting tomorrow and I am looking forward to it very much. The schedule of events has been set and there are some very talented people taking time to share information and talents. There are some that cannot make it and they will be sorely missed - but, hey - it only means we'll have to do it again! :)

Like the new selekraftjeld (which is still taking interested parties), I believe that these things work well because it involves people sharing their passions and working together. I'll update later after things are done...

What really helped put the week off to a good start (despite the fact that school and the writing project started this week which meant a lot of work) was spending Saturday at the Scottish Highland Games listening to Brother (www.brothermusic.com). I've loved their music for over a decade. It has sustained me in some rough spots and inspired me in others. I've taken Raven to see them since he was an infant and Catharine danced in utero. It was really hot in the "sweat tent" but dancing for 3+ hours with my kids was the best feeling I had had in some time. I was a new person when I was done. They've remembered us over the years, including the kids, and even dedicated a song to Donna in the night show (which I'll play during the wake). Hamish hugged me and enjoyed seeing the kids. Angus talked to Rich about bass adaptations. It was a great night. They talk about the inspirations and ideas behind the songs and I've always tied into a lot of it. Thanks, Brother - you've come through for me again!
