I picked up twenty hours this week, but it's in the Local History room and not Circulation. S is in New York for the week and she didn't want to leave the room closed all week, so I have hours! J in Reference wants to start training me as soon as the director okays it and I hope he does. Anyway, working in Local History is pretty easy. S has me entering births, obits, weddings, etc. into databases that will be published to the website so that people can at least see if So-and-so has records here. It's pretty boring, entering names for six hours, but it's quiet. Though, I'm not sure how easy it's going to be tomorrow; I had my first HPV vaccine today. Three injections over four months and the serum feels pretty thick. It hurts, but is totally worth it.

It's been pretty nice here, weather-wise, so I've been taking Simon and Blaine outside as often as I can. They're indoor cats, but we let them outside with supervision. Blaine has discovered that rodents move when you chase them and took off after a squirrel Saturday while I was clearing my herb garden. And yesterday, he discovered chipmunks, but they moved entirely too fast for him.

Sunday was my Serenity game, which was the first time I really GMed, especially with an actual system. It was...interesting. The guys I usually game with focus more on fights in D&D and Star Wars, but this was a lot of character development and role-playing. They enjoyed it and I know their playing styles a little better. Yes, I've played with them many times before, but it's different when you're playing with them, not leading them though a rich manor on Persephone.
