I'm taking a partial hiatus from Facebook. As much as it sucks to lose my primary venue for human contact, the balance of positive feelings to negative feelings has been swinging way too far towards the latter lately. Participating in the Facebook community is feeding anger and hatred in me while hope and love are withering and dying. I have to get away from it for a bit while I still have some sanity left. I'll still talk to people on Messenger, and I'll still pop into certain groups, but reading or posting to my main feed is going to stop for a while.
On the bright side, this means I will probably spend more time on sites that aren't Facebook and perhaps even make some new friends. I also think I'll take this time to finally set up proper filters for my Facebook so I can keep my actual friends separate from the people I add for networking purposes. That's something I've been meaning to do for a while because I don't really appreciate the ignorant input of people who barely know my name when I'm posting about personal things and I'm sure my penchant for wearing my heart on my virtual sleeve is kind of off putting for people who don't know me very well. While I like to be genuine at all times, it's probably pretty easy to get the wrong impression about me from my posts.
