After nearly 40 years of life, I clearly still haven't perfected the fine art of stepping from an elevated surface onto a lower surface. Just two years after breaking my foot just stepping off a curb, I believe I have broken one of my toes walking down stairs. If it's not broken, I've at least fucked it up pretty bad. I was walking back to my room from the bathroom and misjudged how many steps there were in the dark. As I fell, my foot caught the step in such a way as to fold over two of my toes, one of which now seems loose in the joint and feels pretty similar to what it felt like when I broke my foot.
Just like when I broke my foot, though, I'm not letting the fact that walking is excruciatingly painful stop me from getting things done. That's anxiety, depression, and ADHD's jobs. I considered taking the day off of work, as I have some PTO available, but with the only other experienced copy center person's vacation starting today I figure they need me there too much.
