Celebrate Steve Irwin Day - 15 November 2007

Steve Irwin, the original Wildlife Warrior, did what no-one else had been able to do before him - to get millions of people worldwide passionate and enthusiastic about wildlife. Several before him had created the interest, but no-one was ever able to reach out to a global audience and inspire people the way he did. Steve’s energy, his passion, his love of animals and his family values have motivated people of all ages, of all walks of life, to be fascinated by the beauty and significance of our natural world.

Steve’s tragic passing on 4 September 2006 was a devastating blow - wildlife lost its greatest ambassador, and many millions of people felt they had lost a friend. It marked a moment in time that no-one will forget, and it also saw Wildlife Warriors thrust into the international spotlight as the pre-eminent wildlife charity - the legacy left by Steve to inspire the world to get involved and make a difference.

Steve’s legion of fans now have an opportunity to turn their passion into action to continue the work that he started - by participating in the inaugural Steve Irwin Day in November. This will be our charity’s major fundraising event for 2007. All proceeds will be donated to Wildlife Warriors Worldwide to increase the potency of our existing conservation projects, as detailed on this site.

Our aim is to connect with one million new Wildlife Warriors globally.
