It's been quite a while, hasn't it? Life has been both mundane and hectic at the same time. It's like a placid sea with amazing riptides. I don't feel bad about hitting you with a long entry, since it's been over a month. So, let's break it down easy-to-read-style...
Life: I stopped exercising regularly towards the beginning of this year. I would occasionally go jog, I still controlled my portions, and basically lived a moderately decent lifestyle. I ate out too much, though, and in those seven months I regained about seven pounds. Doesn't sound like much, but up until then I was losing six to ten pounds a month, so that's quite the setback in that context. I have rediscovered my passion for this, and will find my way back to jogging five days a week, and work in weight training. By the end of this year, I hope to be feeling pretty good.
Work: I got the position on Help Desk in the IT department, and I start on the 21st! I can't wait! I'm nervous, but I'll finally start using my brain. It seems they do a million things at once, and all of those things are technical and require some knowledge of our Intranet. This should be fun for someone with a memory like a sieve. Now, if only I can make myself start going to school, I'll feel far more "fully engaged" in my own life.
Friends: I have many wonderful friends, whom I love being around, and Moots is moving back into the area. So I have way more people who seem to want to be around me than I have time to spend. This is a glorious feeling, especially since everyone always seems to understand that I love their company, but rarely get a chance to see them. Goooood people. I feel I have chosen well across the board.
Other: I want to take instrument lessons. I got a bass guitar a while back, and fiddled with it a while, and while that is enjoyable, it doesn't feel like "me." I used to take piano lessons, and I miss that. I may go back to it. I want to go back to school. I think I have finally settled on a Bachelor in Computer Science for my next degree. I surround myself with people who push me, and that helps a lot. I want to camp and spend more time outside. I want to travel. That is all.
