A Successful Christmas

Well, I think it's safe to say that Christmas was successful, considering.  We're not a rich family; we'll never be the kind of people who can give extravagent gifts like electronics or furniture or whatever.  Fortunately, I'm used to it, but lately, it bothers me that I can't get my family as much as they deserve, my Dad especially.  I'd love it if my siblings and I could afford to get him a nice new TV, or a Wii, but none of us ever have the funds to contribute.

As I said, yesterday, I got money from my Dad, some of which I used for the updated The Writer's Tale and The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who and the rest I put away. From my sister, I got a couple of zombie books, The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks.  I find this selection rather ironic, because lately, I've been taken with the idea of an epic Doctor Who multi-era zombie story where the First Doctor is infected and it gradually infects all the other Doctors, leaving the companions to cope  (can you imagine Ace or Leela vs zombies?  Awesome).   From my brother, I got more money, and I'm thinking of picking up a Doctor Who soundrack CD with it.

It's actually been a quiet, relaxing holiday.  I allowed myself to sleep in, I took a long walk since it hasn't snowed in about a week and it was almost sunny out, and I watched some Doctor Who Christmas specials, leading up to the new one.  It had its LOL moments, but it was nice to be able to watch one that didn't add to my depression.

So, all in all, it was a good Christmas.  Even if, once again, I didn't get David Tennant.  Maybe next year...
