Mission: Impossible

Nov 01, 2010 12:40

I'm trying to get tickets to San Diego Comic Con.

I'm failing miserably.

Their registration process is a nightmare of waiting for pages to load.  I started the process at 12:01, got on to the first page of registration, saw that there were some four more steps after this, then the whole system froze, and I can't even get the first page to load again.  Apparently some people are getting through, because 13% of the tickets are sold already, and here I am after 40 minutes without even being able to start the process.

Fail, SDCC people!  Epic fail!

[EDIT]
12:45, and page one finally loads.  Still at 13% sold.
12:53, and I'm getting a 'link broken' error for page two.
12:57, and registration pages now show 'Service Unavailable'.  Sales still at 13%
13:04, and I'm back to waiting for page one to load.
13:13, and still no page one.  Sales still at 13%.  This is f*cking ridiculous.
13:16, and registration is broken again.
13:30, and service still unavailable.  Soooo glad I took off work for this.
13:41, and there are still no new ticket sales.  Clearly, this is a problem that is going to go on for awhile.
13:42, and SDCC has given up, and posted a message to check back on November 8 for a new registration time.

Thank you, SDCC.  I missed work for this.

humanity=epic fail, convention, sdcc
