Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. I wonder what that says about me, that I favor a dark holiday over the cheerful, family-oriented (*shudders*) holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But I've always loved it, despite the fact that I live in Podunk, USA, where no one over ten dresses up for Halloween, much less has parties. I hatehatehate being a small town girl... I was in LA for Halloween last year. Now there's a place where adults are allowed to have fun! Where the costumes aren't cheap-looking! Where Saw IV is shown at Graumann's Chinese Theater! And the parties... oh, the parties! Next year, I will be somewhere where I can enjoy the holidays.
Anyway... I need Halloween fic. Preferably involving my current favorite fandoms, Iron Man and The Dark Knight. If anyone can recommend such stories, please tell me. They can be creepy, funny, romantic, whatever. If I don't have any to read, I might be horribly tempted to write something myself - and I tend to involve werewolves. (I can't help it; they're my guilty pleasure!) Darned if I know how I'd do an IM werewolf fic, and this year DC beat me to a Two-Face vs werewolf story (gotta get me a pic from that to use as a Halloween icon!) but the temptation is there.
Or I'd write about zombies. They don't get enough love, and a Zombie!Rachel cosplayer I saw online made me want to write The Zombie Knight. LOL.
[Edit] There is some fic out there! Amonitrate has created a Halloween Fic A Thon, complete with several IM fics:
Amonitrate's Halloween Fic A Thon And for TDK fics, I recommend this:
Can't Get You Out Of My Head, an anusual fic starring the Joker, who is actually *gasp* in character. It does have one of the dreaded Original Female Characters, but she's very unique, and very well written. What makes it a Halloween recommendation is that it uses themes from Asian horror, creating a genuinely creepy atmosphere. And the author can actually write, too.
As for the bank difficulties mentioned in my previous entry... Urgh! While the initial problem was mostly my fault, it spawned new problems that were entirely the fault of the bank and left me with a major account overdraw. Twice I called them addressing various problems and was told notes would be left on my account so certain fees would be waived - only to find there was no record of my calls or said promises, leaving me in serious trouble. Fan-bloody-tastic. Eventually, I managed to get this cleared up... but I have serious doubts about my bank. Clearly, communication isn't their strong point.
