Bits and Bobs. Well, more 'bits' than any real 'Bobs.'

* I'm still fifteen pounds from my weight goal, and have been at this weight for six weeks.  I am extremely frustrated, and more than a little discouraged by this.  I'm soooo close to my goal weight, and I can't seem to do anything about it!  I eat a lot of salad, my meals are still down to one serving, I rarely indulge more than once a week, and I'm steadily increasing my exercise - I can use a higher resistance now, even when the temperature is up to 90 degrees.  But still, no effect.  Any suggestions?  I'm especially interested in any exercises that target belly fat.  It must go.

* The biggest excitement in my life is watching the Greater Sandhill Cranes that seem to have moved into the area.  This is the first year they've been seen around here, and it's fun watching them - especially since they're huge.  They can be up to 5 feet tall with a 7 foot wingspan, and it's surprisingly easy to mistake them for deer when they're spotted in the field.  Apparently, this was a near-extinct species that is now thriving, and I'm guessing their nesting range is expanding, and that these are pairs looking for new areas to nest in.

* I'm deriving a lot of amusement from the descriptions our dish network guide provides for shows.  Specifically, for Doctor Who episodes.  I don't know who comes up with them, but they're... special.  For example, The Doctor's Daughter aired the other day with this description:  'The Doctor meets the most important woman of his life.'  I wonder if it was just a random thing, or if someone has a sense of humor.  But the winning description goes to the upcoming The Doctor's Wife: 'The Doctor, Amy, and Rory are in danger.'  Wow, that's... useful.

* Sometime back, I posted a wish for something that had both steampunk and zombies.  It seems someone has finally gotten around to writing it:  Boneshaker   Sweet!  Now I just have to wait for it to come in to the library.

* Woo hoo!  Smallville series finale tonight!  Time to see if he finally dons the red cape and underwear and flies!

issues - i have them, fandom: doctor who, smallville, books, companion training program, crazy self is crazy, diet is 'die' with a 't', real life, needs moar zombies, steampunk, excercising my thinner demons
