Hawai'i
Hooray! I am off to Hawai'i for job interviews, and to get a feel for how well matched I might be for life on Oahu.
I'm traveling with my parents, and we're also going to take two days to visit The Big Island, so I'm getting in a bit of hiking, swimming, and sight-seeing as well, though my greater purpose really is to get a feel for Honolulu.
It's possible that I could accept an offer right away to begin work in March, but it's more likely that I'll work a year in Houston first and then reevaluate; for various reasons, there are major financial advantages to transferring with a year's experience.
Plus, I think a fantastic offer is likely to come through in Houston at the end of this month, and I'll be excited to accept it if I'm correct.
