At 6:30 am this morning I got a text message from my friend Pat who is part of the San Diego Urban Search & Rescue Group. The last time I talked to him was this past Saturday when he was sitting in Houston waiting to be deployed out to a military base somewhere between NOLA and Mississippi.
He is what he said on his message:
"Tell everyone to give their donations specifically for the animals.There are dogs everywhere dieing."
I lost it after seeing that message this morning. I can't imagine having to leave my dogs behind, they're like my kids and to hear about this first hand from a good friend who also has dogs and feels the same way tears my heart to pieces.
So please, in addition to the Red Cross or whatever group you are donating to, if you can, please help the orginizations that are trying to resuce the animals.
