Seconding pdragon76's fic! I'll read most anything, but I'm rea~lly picky about long!fics. "Blind Spot" was the first SPN fan fic I ever read, and I devoured it twice. Admittedly, I skipped some parts (OC or smut centric) but it's easy enough to do, since I get the feeling you'll be skimming the brief smut parts, too. The H/C is pitch-perfect and Dean is fantastic and so is Sam and so is Jo and so is Meg and so is Bobby and did I mention the H/C elements? Absolutely spine-tingling. Yum.
The weird thing is that I'm much more touchy about smut now than I ever was in my younger years. I was a young teen when I started reading the "Clan of the Cavebear" series. If you've never heard of it, it's a pre-historic series based on a time when neanderthal-type men and modern men roamed the earth together. Lots of detailed sex scenes. And I devoured them. Started steering away from that kind of thing as I got older, though.
Thanks for the second. I'm intending to print this one for my trip. Can't wait!
Me too, actually. I'll still read it now, but my endurance for smut scenes and the degree to which the smut is described is much lower. When I was 13-15 I read metric tons of smut fic. Then it kind of tapered off, though I'd still read plenty of ethereal, vanilla sex and then, on the other end, BDSM and noncon stuff.
For SPN fandom I've read some Dean/OMC one night stand (which admittedly, I truly love), some Wincest, some Dean/Jo, some Sam/Ruby, etc. but only in small doses. If it's an entire fic based on PWP I lose interest and skip or I stop reading (the scenes in "Blind Spot" aren't long or overly explicit, but I skipped them anyway, ahaha). Phenomenal fic, though. Be sure and tell us what you thought of it! :)
Oh, I'll let you ladies know when I read the fics! I'll probably get back from the seminar and give you a little update on anything interesting (probably not much) and my thoughts on any fics I read.
I do enjoy reading BDSM and noncon, but I have to make myself avoid it. Once I get started, I become preoccupied in a way that worries me. I don't read slash or femslash at all. It's just not my thing.
Admittedly, I do enjoy noncon quite a bit. >.> Though I'm more picky about that in SPN, even, too. Like, I don't think I could read an evil!Sam or an evil!Dean fic that had noncon Wincest in it. Or noncon with Jo, or Jess, or Mary, or really any of the non-demon ladies. Which makes me wonder what exactly I do read in SPN, noncon-wise. I actually haven't the slightest clue! O___o
Thanks for the recs. I've never read that pdragon fic. In fact, I started reading the first little bit out of curiosity and had trouble putting it down! No, I told myself, it's for the trip! I finally closed it, but oh how it hurt. *grabby hands* lol
I've read MRSA (I had my own episode of MRSA a few weeks ago and got curios to see if any authors had ever dealt with it). Her Red Beans and Rice is one of my favorites. I haven't read Under a Haystack, though, and added it to the list of fics for my trip.
I think I'm going to have plenty of reading material! Yay! (I'm always open to recs, though, so feel free to throw them my way whenever you want.)

Very heavily seconded. XD
