quiet days

So I love Gordon Ramsay. (I need to add him as an 'interest' to my LJ bio)

I found some of his shows during the long, sedentary winter months since I watch mostly BBC anyway. Kitchen Nightmares is awesome and I have learned so much about running a restaurant. He is passionate and energetic both qualities that I appreciate. The fact that he is particualrly found of the f*** word, no pun intended for regular viewers, doesn't bother me at all. I uses them for emphasis myself on a regular occasion, in the right company of course, a-hem.

It is a closet dream of mine to own and run a small cafe - although the older and more impaired I become, a dream it will remain.

Unfortunately, I can't get my hands on any of his cookbooks - I wanted to peruse a couple before launching off and making a purchase. Perhaps he hasn't made his way in popularity in the states - certainly not here in Wyoming of all places. Although I did read he has a couple of restaurants stateside in CA and NY. I must some sort of affinity for the UK, since I really enjoy Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver, too.

I still have a fair bit of down time most days so during the afternoons, my BBC channel provides back-to-back episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, The f*** Word (although not my favorite), The Hotel Inspector, and BBC news. Recently I have been enjoying Top Gear, those guys are hilarious. About the only networky viewing for me is Rescue Me on FX, Denis Leary is awesome. Damages and Nip/Tuck are 2 of my favs, too, but they have such doggone short seasons.

This entire entry is about TV....sad.
Oh well, such is my life right now. Still recovering and until the weather makes up it's freaking mind what season it is, I will be indoors.

a regular day
