presentation day

Well, this afternoon at 1700 is the presentation to the county commissioners.  There has already been a few media blips on the radio and tv.  GAH.  I don't want this to be a circus.
I've been trying to prep myself for the "making-more-out-of-it-than-it-is" hubub, but I will admit the butterflies are beginning to flutter a bit.  I am not, nor have I EVER been a front line person.  I am a behind the scenes type.
A little later I will get on the TreadClimber from hell and perhaps that will alleviate some of my anxiety.  I know for about 45 minutes I won't be thinking about anything other than the aneurysm I'm trying to avoid.

This weekend we go back down to Trinidad, Co to our outfitter's friends place.  I'm going to cook for the guides and stuff to make sure they like my grub and no one gets ptomaine.  Fred and Tom will talk about the facilities manager side and I guess we'll see if this is really a possibility for us.
It seems exciting, and a bit scary, all at the same time.

I think tomorrow, I'll take the scooter on my first short interstate ride to Natural Bridge.  It's a bit less than 50 miles one way.  I'll pack myself a little picnic, maybe take a blanket and a book and park down by the creek
for a bit.  This will be my reward for surviving today.

This is what my new bike looks like - except it has a full windshield.  After I get paid for my contract work, I'll be ordering hard bags to match the copper paint.   schweet.
