More nature....

Charles the Hornworm is now Charles the Carolina Sphinx Moth. As I enter this, Charles has emerged from the soil, and his wings are expanding. I've left his jar outside for the evening, so he'll be free to fly off when he's ready. Goodbye, Charles - it was fun watching you change! (Stay away from birds! And lizards!)

We have 20 tilapia fry in our outdoor tank now. We are officially tilapia farmers now.

The garden is still struggling with the heat. I'm not sure what else I could do, so I'm hoping at least some of them pull through to the cooler months. (Cool weather in Phoenix - still 3 months away.) The strawberry plant developed the weirdest most deformed strawberry I have even seen. The cherry tomatoes are plugging away. The one cucumber that had finally started to grow died. Sigh. I have 9 cotton plants hanging in there, and the corn is trying to put on a brave face. Wheat is gone. The Mongolian giant sunflowers are slowly but surely getting taller.

I really need less projects....
