Its finally ready! I'm launching it!!

What am I talking about? Oh yeah, I guess I've been super quiet lately. Sorry about that. I've been working on laying the infrastructure.... for.... MY ART PROJECT!

I've launched an art project. A public, collaborative project. Its called A Universe of Love: A collaborative art project about equality, humanity and love. (I call it AUOL, for short.)

Its about LOVE! But more importantly, its about equality. Love is equality! Every single human being has the capacity for love. No one (no one!) should tell you who you can and cannot love. We are entitled to love, and to express our love to one another. If you and your partner want to express your love through marriage... well, every single human being should have that right. Equality! Humanity! Love! The three go hand-in-hand-in-hand.

For the project, I'm seeking love stories. I want your love story! I want the story of love overcoming odds, obstacles and distances. I want the love story of your parents, or your grandparents. I want stories about love across borders, across religions, across race and gender. I want every walk of life represented. And - I want you to make a heart to go with your story. The heart must be handmade, bt beyond that, go wild! Sewn, quilted, paper mache, knit, crochet, origami, paper, metal, clay - whatever! I want to see you express your love into a heart. And I want you to send the story and the heart TO ME!

What am I going to do with your stories and hearts? I'm going to send them to the President, for Valentine's Day 2010. This is our message - our collective human message - to everyone and anyone. Love takes on all forms! And every human, in every form, LOVES! Love cannot be defined. Love cannot be restricted. Love is love, and love is equality.

I have more information (including where to send your submissions) on the AUOL blog - www.auniverseoflove.blogspot.com. You can also follow the project on Twitter - equalityinlove.

Also, I need volunteers to help get the word out! There is more on that on the blog, too. If you would like to help, please let me know!

(This is kind of spam-y, I know. Sorry. But, this is really my project, and I'm using all resources available to spread the word. My next post will be better. Sorry!)
