Author's notes: Some time ago, I promised shorter chapters … but then that didn't happen. This one is shorter, so I am fulfilling a promise here. The hope is that this will allow for more frequent updates, and also for

Hmmm, Obi-Wan, you know how to make a relationship work, at least until it blows up in your face. Now I need to dig out my 'wet Obi' icon!
Ryn, you will be a most excellent aunt. It's lots of fun.

Well, there's that.
Writing this chapter left me feeling sort of vaguely regretful that I didn't have an extra sibling likely to produce offspring for me to be a bad influence on. (Kakkik is even less a candidate for motherhood than I am.) We were never close to any of our aunts and uncles growing up, but I've always thought it sounded like fun.

Do I want to borrow a kid, even if I get to hand it back? Hm. I remember wishing desperately that my Florida aunt was around more when I was a teenybopper; she told funny stories and wore nail polish.

A fun aunt, the best kind! I tried to be such, for Nephew, and tell Youngest, "He was my little boy before you were."

Aunt P is fun. This is the same aunt in Orlando who put up Kaks and me for the SW convention last year, and I don't get to spend nearly enough time with her.

Aw, that's sweet of her and she must look forward to visits. By the by, last night PBS had a special on the Florida Everglades being invaded by Burmese pythons, those either let loose by overwhelmed owners or those escaped during storms and hurricanes and some of those puppies are 16 feet! They are spreading and even though some scenes /had/ to be staged, the sight of a snake twice as long as the native Indigo Snake of the area made me shiver. On the plus side, they're easier to catch than some snakes, just walk up and grab by the head. Not me, though.

She says she does look forward to visits, but I can't really grasp why. (Kakkik and I are just not that exciting.) Although apparently our famous "Ewok Celebration Dance" made it to video … [/sheepish]
I'll probably see her over Christmas, which will be nice!
Speaking of Christmas, have you tried the new peppermint hot chocolates at McDonald's? I got one on my way home tonight and I can't decide how I feel about it.

Family means a lot; and people aren't expected to entertain, just be there and be gracious. I'm imagining the Ewok Groovy Dance.
Must try those - I do enjoy mint and chocolate -- could it be McD's is gilding the lily, though, as a good hot chocolate is satisfying in itself?
