Disclaimer: George Lucas owns Star Wars.  This story is a work of fan fiction, from which I am not receiving any profit.

Author's note: I've had some questions about it lately, so I should probably state that this is basically a genfic.  Some canon characters, some fan-created characters, but no romantic pairings yet. Later in the Life in Freefall ( Read more... )

Hmm, possible themes: sneezefic, embarassment over Morning Wood, those oh-so-cold planets that require extreme bundling/cuddling ... nothing graphic, please.

Oooh. Pairing?

ETA: And also, what is sneezefic? Is it just a fic about sneezing, or is there something else to it?

tarotgal has a sneeze fetish site above linked and the stories there are mostly h/c, some slash, some other. It's explained on there. I'm thinking gen-sneezefic would be okay, too.

Thanks for the link. Is there a pairing preference?

Nah, it's such a challenge, any pairing would work. At least, it would be a challenge for my brain.

Sneeze fic is indeed a new and different thought for me. I must ponder.

Yes. It's another series of treatments for Spouse.

Hee, I don't know that show but anything lagomorphic I like.

Gosh, that's hard. Anything that's helping at this point?

I had to google "lagomorphic." But bunnies were a running theme of the fourth season; I liked it quite a lot, in spite of the excessive angst.

I'm a sucker for comedy mixed in with the angst. I guess that's why Desperate Housewives appeals so much, and goodness knows those gals have angst up their, um, wingwangs.

best of luck with all of it wyncatastrophe April 27 2011, 04:54:10 UTC
I think that's why I liked the OC; the comedic timing on that show was not to be missed. And some of the dialogue was pretty good, too.

Now I want to dig out the eps … *sigh*

I've never watched DH. Good?

Thanks so much. pronker April 27 2011, 05:04:01 UTC
It sounds like a worthwhile show, then. I used to have friends in Tustin in Orange County, a blah sort of place; Newport Beach sounds much more exciting.

It's been excellent from the beginning, despite a five year timeskip that I was wishywashy about. The women have real problems, it's well-acted and the hunks are extremely hunkified on there. The soap opera part means that each woman has /way/ more problems than RL, but that's okay for fiction.

I have my suspicions that the real Newport Beach is pretty tame. But one of the characters is from a bad neighborhood …

A timeskip? You mean in the show's timeline? How do they account for aging/lack thereof?

Watching someone else's fictional drama is sometimes a welcome distraction from real problems ...

TVTropes has a big fat file on timeskips, but DH was all right. Everyone is five years older, with differing hairdos and such, but the one strange thing was Gaby, the ex-model, putting on some pounds after her two girls were born in the skip. Everyone called her 'oh, so fat' and she wore puffy blouses and a short hairdo which was supposed to show off her pudginess, but honestly, the actress may have gained 5 pounds total and the rest was padding. I laughed long and hard at that. The biggest thing, and maybe the reason for the whole skip, was to age the children out of the 5-11 year old range and get them to teen years, which as we all know, are full of drama.

The show has occasionally done flashbacks, and everyone's wrinkles are whited out with the ghastliest, brightest lighting you can imagine. It's a technique that's not too hard to effect, because ten years back isn't all that far back for the actresses, all of whom seem to be forty-ish now and twenty-ish for the flashbacks.

Yes, let's hear it for distractions right now.
