Very in-TLOTJ mood here, and of course Trever is IC. Liked the tete-a-tete between them and Trever's simplification of their relationship, ah youth. Ferus is simply Ryn-centric, attested to by his wanting to remember if she smelled the same and so forth; has she ever fed him, to make him doubt her cuisine? They must have done stuff like this, if they were on the run together. *happily thinks of their backstory, slowly revealed as it is.*

Another Amazing Coincidence! pronker February 27 2011, 18:33:22 UTC
Trever and Ferus I'd revisited via TLOTJ yesterday since Graystache gathered a ginormous virus Saturday a.m. that ate my new wall -- so back to Computer Guy he goes tomorrow, if at all possible. I'm concentrating on the family reunion today to dispel the discouraged feelings this engenders. Mom is 86!!

Ferus and Ryn are coming across as busy people, but not unfeeling ones to each other. One thing I can compare them to is a pilot light, small, warm, unending. to me that in TLOTJ stuff, he was sort of always focused on someone or something else, so it didn't feel quite right to have him brooding over his own problems/mission/life. I kind of liked the idea that Ryn doesn't see how important she is to him, only his focus on the larger picture. And you don't want your pilot light to go out, because it takes a violent strike of a match and dangerous messing with the gas to get it going again. *thinks of stove back in First Home*

What? How'd he get a virus so soon? Maybe you need more extensive anti-virus software? I'm sorry for all your computer troubles. :(

How do you know he has a virus, anyway?

Pilot lights, yes, never fun to relight.

I'm pointing fingers to myself; after working well, anti-virus VIPRE asked me to 'install new software' and then said 'installation file not blah'. And I needed to just shut down the whole thing, though I'd had no problems up to that point, and take it back in. Instead I messed around surfing some more. Grrr.

Hee, it's one of those things 'you have serious spyware *in mangled English* so install this right now' using the mirroring effect that used to get me scared. *rolls eyes at self*

Once, a wolf spider nearly as big as a tarantula was hiding under Old Stove and freaked Sister-in-law and me greatly. I did the Samwise thing and killed it, but yow! That thing could jump.

I'm not understanding. After it said installation whatever, could you not run a systems check or something? Norton will let me run a scan to detect, not that it's ever actually found anything ...

What's a mirroring effect?

*snort* Did you have to stab it from beneath?

It was installed; it was doing updates; then, out of the blue, it says 'software ready to install' and like a booby, I did it. It's at Computer Guy's now *we had a clandestine meeting at Jack in the Box to give it to him* and I'm awaiting hopeful news. He said, after I described the mirroring thing that ate my wall, that it came in an email. So that's the poop thus far. A mirroring effect is when an invader reads your ISP and says, "Hey, you, over there in Hometown! Have I got a girl for you, and she lives right near you!!"

I killed it with a shovel, not very Tolkien-esque.
