This is why it's important to start switching over to renewable fuels right now because it won't be as painful and doing it will actually lessen demand which will lessen the cost and make the existing supply last longer. Republicans could well come off as the saviors of the American people here if they realized this and acted upon that knowledge. But instead they're content to keep lying to people and selling them this 'Drill here, Drill now' nonsense.
When I hear the chant for 'Drill here Drill now' I generally just ask where any gasoline drilled here is going to be refined. Then where it's going to be sold. Right now, we don't have the refinery capacity and it will be 5-7 years before we can GET the refinery capacity. But even if we did, the Republicans themselves have admitted that any oil drilled here will be sold on the global market. Which is fairly typical of the Republican party. Steal from everybody to make yourself rich. Perhaps that sort of reversed robin hood scam should be their motto.
Republicans : We fuck you to make ourselves richer.
