I got up this morning believing that it was 5:30. I started my coffee, fed the cat, powered up the computer. Hmmm, the clock on the computer says 4:30.  The clock on the microwave,tv,dvd player say 4:30. Fine. So, I'm up an hour earlier than planned - gives me time to update -- or at least, make a short post.
Spring is kicking ass here in SC, it's sunny, warm and breezy exactly like spring should be.
Makenna,Riley and I went to see Sucker Punch Friday. I loved it. I wasn't expecting to because from the trailers it appeared that it could be one of those overly produced adaptations that was all flash. I thought visually it was gorgeous. Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing it again. So...there.
Last week it was time to take my Mom to have a spinal injection - no big deal; it takes about fifteen minutes. When we left the Post-op we ran into two people that I have not seen in - well, a lot of years. It was weird. It almost never happens to me. Moving around while growing-up means that you are rarely in the same place twice. Anyway, I'd forgotten how one of the people has absolutely no sense of personal space. I don't mean just standing close either. This girl stood toe to toe, held on to my arm and would not break eye contact. *shiver* She still had the insane southern drawl that I have tried to block from my memory.  Honestly, she draws y'all out the length of four syllables. It is impossible to have a conversation with her because she is too damn close and she takes so long to say anything! I don't miss her.
The other person was far more tolerable and considering the sympathetic looks he was giving me I suspect he knew exactly what I was feeling.
I've been playing DragonAge2. I've enjoyed it. I'm one of the people that likes the new combat system although I didn't mind the system used in Awakenings and Origins. The environments are mind-numbingly repetitious which I find insulting, but I like the story and the characters and I'm surprised that I find the romance option fun -- I never used it when playing Mass Effect 1 & 2. I do think Bioware made a mistake calling the game DragonAge 2; it really has nothing to do with the first story other than it takes place in the same world and there are casual references to the original storyline.
Riley and I are having fun comparing notes on the romancing of the renegade elf. We have spent too much time bemoaning the fact that real men are never as intense and broody as our fantasies. But then I suspect that should we ever meet one it wouldn't take long before we were whining about them "...never sharing their feelings..." or "...letting us in."  Of course, it would help if they could wield a giant sword and phase their fist through a human body. *sigh* That's why they are called 'fantasies'.

spring, dragonage2, sucker punch
