It's what we call a refit, mate

I just got around to taking a look at Invasion Earth and realized that, my goodness, it's UFO with a refit and Fred Ward in place of Ed Bishop. Needs exotic women in Bacofoil suits and shiny purple wigs, though, not to mention lots of primary colors. What it has in place of the shiny stuff of UFO is Deros...well, something like them. The miniseries plays it safe and has extraterrestrials too (who all commit suicide part way into the story, go figure.)

This was a BBC-SciFi co-production, so the budget is about three bucks and a wad of chewing gum, but they try to put it to good use. None of the sets wobble!
