BSG & no TV & Brain Suckage!!!!!! and a q to YOU

Jul 09, 2008 20:27

I have no TV so I get my media from the net, including "instant replay" stuff for things like Gray's Anatomy and Heroes, or iTunes for downloading certain shows like Battlestar Galactica.

OK. I write science fiction, right? Can you see how primo SF is totally compelling to me? And believe me, of all the SF I have ever seen in media including Trek and Star Wars, I venture to say that the re-imagining of BSG is *hands downs* the Very Best science fiction I have EVER beheld in media. Bar none.  (Juice100, take note of this. Yes, I mean you.)

The fact that I lack tv complicates my viewing. I have been waiting and waiting for Season 4 to start, which it did while I was moving from one state to another (Arnarchy to Republicanism? Confusion to Enlightenment? I forget).

I have finally synched up my viewing habits with media accessibility and have started to dl the BSG Season 4 episodes (and may I observe, that amazon.com's Unboxed baloney, whence it seems Sci-Fi.com has fled with their franchise away from iTunes, actually has SUCKY graphics quality in comparison to whatever iTunes was doing with their media. Fuck this, this means I am going to have to buy the f-ing CDs when they're out, DAMMIT. Fracka snacka don't get me started about media data compression and viewing quality bla bla bla...)

ANYway, as PeeWee used to say:  I'm catching up with BSG and have been moved to tears already and fired up in a SF-writing rampage (which is great! I want to rampage that way! Need to, these days) - but in order to really get in the groove with this, now feel compelled to start back at the start, from the pilot, and do a total "story review + webisodes + in-between movies like Razor" viewing retrospect in order to be *properly* amped for the ongoing BSG season. Have just browbeaten sibling and extorted a "yes I'll watch that all with you" (or at least the start of it) commitment from her (go, Sis!!! LOL) because I MUST share this brilliance with someone immediate who can appreciate it like I do. Sigh.

SO:  If you know of any CURRENTLY ACTIVE Battlestar Galactic role-playing groups online, please send me the links. I think I need to do something drastic like gaming to deal with this jones.

Thank You Very Much for Playing.

Now go watch your BSG.

And send Starbuck/Adm Adam/Rosilin/Boomer/Deanna/No. Six fanmail, as you please.   Or any other (I suppose I must be understanding in that regard).

I promise this will result in my amping up my own SF writing. "Grist", you know.

Cavort.
