Some good news for a change

I don't know what inspiration just hit me, since I'm sort of wary of LJ these days, but I figure since most of my updates are crappy news about my health, I would tell you about something kind of awesome that happened to me this week.

I follow a few "celebrities" on Twitter. I follow John Cleese from Monty Python, Grant Imahara and Adam Savage from Mythbusters, John Hodgkins from the PC/Mac commercials, and Paula Poundstone.

It's the last one that's germane to the post.

So Paula has a show in Annapolis tonight. Wednesday, she Twittered that there were two pairs of free tickets available to the show, with a link to the Ram's Head theater, where it is taking place. I went to the site and saw no information on the giveaway, so I responded to the post that I didn't see it. I was told that it was a Twitter thing, and I was in the running.

Well, I won.

I didn't even enter for real, I was just letting them know that I didn't see anything on the site about it. Not that I'm complaining, but sometimes my best luck outcomes come when I'm not even trying.

So tonight, I'm taking my girlfriend out on a date, which is useful, since our date night this week was me teaching a class for BR. (Not very romantic.)

Good things.
