upcoming #scifichat anthology

RT @scifichat: Next #scifichat Fri. Dec. 11, 2-4 pm ET. We'll create shared world for anthology from Flying Pen Press! #Authors invited!

One of my first discoveries when I found Twitter was Debbi Ohi's tweet, leading to her blog post about Twitter chats for writers. One of these is #scifichat, which is 1-3 p.m. on Fridays my local time (basically, Chicago time). It is hosted by David Rozansky of Flying Pen Press, who publishes science fiction books (and an odd miscellany of other stuff, including poker books). http://www.flyingpenpress.com/ for those who are curious.

This week's chat was about worldbuilding, which I always find more interesting in the specific than the very general--i.e. an hour talking about some aspect of worldbuilding is better than talking about all aspects, and an hour doing it is better still. Perhaps he felt the same, because during the chat, he decided that next week will be a worldbuilding session, to create a shared world for Twitter authors to write in, and he tweeted that he will publish an anthology of such stories.

Being a spur-of-the-moment decision, he doesn't yet have writer's guidelines for lengths of stories or payment or deadlines yet.

However, I'm thinking this will be fun.

And I have a bunch of writer friends here, so I thought I would share.
