Skimmer is a violent man, but there is a motive/reason behind his violence?

He mentioned his motive for capturing her and tying her up, or at least one motive for that.

As to being angry about his tattoo being permanently damaged, anyone would be upset about that. And sadly, anger is enough motive for many people.

That's completely unexpected! I thought there was a little chance that he was the Fireborn, maybe just barely possibly, but I didn't expect this! Good way to build suspence and hit us with the unexpected.
