I agree. One of my goals was to pick funny-colored tomatoes to reduce theft (I am pleased to feed the homeless, but I want to get to taste the fruits of my labors), but beauty is an even better reason.

Offhand, I'd guess most of the garden burglars are ~not~ homeless,
just assholes.

I know my neighborhood. I would guess most here are genuinely hungry, even if not homeless (even the squirrels).
